Bac Ninh tasked to become a modern and smart city
NDO – Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc has tasked Bac Ninh to become a modern and smart city, leading exemplary development in the country with breakthroughs expected to be seen in hi-tech industry, organic agriculture, and the application of advanced technologies.
The Government leader made the request at a ceremony held in Bac Ninh on February 12 to celebrate the province’s 20th anniversary of re-establishment.
He highly appreciated significant and comprehensive achievements made by the local Party Committee, authorities, people and army over the past two decades.
He asked the province to join hands with other localities across the country to realize the national socio-economic development tasks in 2017 while exerting maximum effort to establish itself as a centrally-run city and one of the wealthiest localities in the following decades.
He requested the province not to be content with its achievements but to continue working out more initiatives and solutions to raise Bac Ninh into one of the leading electronics factory industrial areas of the region.
He stressed the importance of safeguarding traditional historical and cultural values and protecting the environment during the integration and development process.
It is also necessary to enhance Party building, enhance the management of local authorities as well as promote the role of the provincial Fatherland Front Committee and social organisations, he added.
On the occasion, he presented the Independence Order (first class) to the Party Organisation, government and people of Bac Ninh.
Earlier, Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc led a Government delegation to work with key provincial leaders and visited Samsung Complex Expansion Project at Yen Phong industrial park.
